WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Pat Harrigan (R-NC), a combat-decorated Green Beret, graduate of the United States Military Academy, and defense entrepreneur representing North Carolina’s 10th District, has been appointed to the House Armed Services Committee to oversee national defense policy, military readiness, and U.S. security.

“It is an honor to serve on the House Armed Services Committee,” said Congressman Harrigan. “As a Green Beret who has seen the cost of freedom firsthand, I know what it takes to keep America safe and secure. On this committee, I will fight to rebuild our military strength, restore a Peace Through Strength approach, and ensure our troops have the resources, training, and authorities they need to win. This isn’t just about defense—it’s about ensuring America’s security and maintaining our leadership on the global stage.”

“I am thrilled to welcome Pat Harrigan to the House Armed Services Committee,” said Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL). “As a Green Beret, Pat bravely served our nation. As a member of the committee, I know he will continue to fight to strengthen our military and support our servicemembers. I look forward to getting to work.”

With firsthand experience on the battlefield and in the defense industry, Congressman Harrigan brings a practical and mission-focused approach to the committee’s work. His priorities include modernizing defense strategies, strengthening domestic manufacturing to protect critical supply chains, and addressing evolving threats to ensure America’s dominance on the global stage.
