WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) voted to pass H.R.1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, landmark legislation that delivers the largest tax cut in American history, locks down the southern border, and restores fiscal and military strength after years of Democrat failure.
“This bill is how we rebuild what Biden broke,” said Congressman Harrigan. “It cuts taxes for working families, slashes wasteful spending, unleashes American energy, and gives President Trump the resources to finish the job at the border. The One Big Beautiful Bill puts hardworking Americans first and allows North Carolina families to keep more of their hard-earned money.”
The One Big Beautiful Bill is backed by President Trump and includes provisions drawn directly from the America First agenda. It permanently extends key provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, delivers the strongest border enforcement package in U.S. history, and secures over a trillion dollars in federal spending cuts.
Key provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill:
- $4 trillion in tax relief for working families
- Permanent tax cuts and 100% expensing for new investment
- No federal tax on tips or overtime pay
- $1.4 trillion in spending cuts
- $150 billion to rebuild the U.S. military
- Pay raises and improved quality of life for servicemembers
- 10,000 new ICE agents and expanded detention capacity
- Completion of the border wall and expedited deportation operations of illegal aliens
- Elimination of Green New Deal subsidies and regulatory red tape
Impact on North Carolina’s 10th District:
- 500,570 taxpayers protected from a 27% tax hike
- 92,450 families keep their full Child Tax Credit
- 46,040 small businesses avoid a crushing 43.4% tax rate
- 4,419 family-owned farms keep their full Death Tax exemption
“The American people gave us the mandate, and we’ve delivered. Now it’s time to get this bill to the President’s desk and finish the job,” said Congressman Harrigan.
