WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) joined a bipartisan group of House members to launch the Congressional Trucking Caucus, the first caucus of its kind in U.S. history, focused on strengthening road safety, supply chains, and the trucking workforce.
The caucus will serve as a forum for Members of Congress to engage directly on policies impacting America’s trucking industry, including driver shortages, infrastructure challenges, and safety standards. Truckers move more than 70 percent of the nation’s freight and remain essential to keeping goods moving across rural and urban communities alike.
“Truckers are the backbone of our economy, but Washington keeps making their jobs harder,” said Congressman Harrigan. “They’re dealing with unsafe infrastructure, a shrinking workforce, and regulations written by people who have never been behind the wheel. This caucus gives truckers a voice in Congress and focuses on real solutions that improve safety and keep supply chains moving.”
Congressman Harrigan will serve as a Co-Chair of the caucus alongside Representatives Dave Taylor (OH-02), Shomari Figures (AL-02), Harriet Hageman (WY-AL), Doug LaMalfa (CA-01), and Mary Miller (IL-15).
