WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) voted to pass H.R. 1968, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, ensuring critical government functions remain operational while securing key conservative priorities.
“This bill keeps the government running, guarantees our troops get paid, equips President Trump’s administration to execute its agenda, and secures funding for essential services that millions of Americans rely on,” said Congressman Harrigan. “Republicans are delivering results while others waste time playing political games.”
Key Provisions of H.R. 1968:
- Military Readiness and Pay Increases: The bill fully funds the Department of Defense, including a historic 19.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers, the largest in decades. It also ensures continued operations, training, and weapons procurement to maintain America’s military dominance.
- Support for Veterans and Military Families: Provides full funding for the Veterans Health Administration and military housing improvements, ensuring that those who have served receive the healthcare and support they deserve.
- Maintaining Essential Services: Keeps key federal programs running, including Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, preventing disruptions that could impact millions of Americans.
- Border Security and Law Enforcement: Allocates funding for the Department of Homeland Security and federal law enforcement agencies, ensuring that border security efforts and crime prevention initiatives continue without interruption.
- Economic Stability and Fiscal Responsibility: Prevents unnecessary economic uncertainty by avoiding a government shutdown while holding the line on spending levels as House Republicans continue working to cut waste and restore fiscal discipline.
Congressman Harrigan is urging the Senate to pass this legislation without delay.
