WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) voted to pass H.Con.Res. 14, the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution, a key step in delivering President Trump’s America First agenda. This budget sets the course for fiscal responsibility, economic growth, border security, and energy independence, while protecting working families from devastating tax hikes.
“North Carolinians sent me here to secure our borders, lower taxes, restore energy dominance, and stop Washington’s reckless spending,” said Congressman Harrigan. “This budget keeps those promises. It’s about protecting working families, cutting waste, and making sure the government serves the people—not the other way around.”
The resolution outlines budgetary levels for FY2025 through FY2034 and sets the framework for tax cuts, deregulation, investment in border security, and a focus on energy independence. It directs 11 House committees to propose legislation that either reduces the deficit or responsibly increases the debt limit, with a clear focus on eliminating waste and protecting taxpayers.
H.Con.Res. 14 invests in national defense and border security, promotes American energy production to lower costs for families, and prevents what could be the largest tax hike in U.S. history. Without this budget, middle-class families could face steep tax increases—like a family of four earning the median income paying nearly $1,700 more.
“This is about promises made and promises kept,” said Congressman Harrigan. “The American people gave us a mandate. Now, it’s time to unite, pass this budget, and deliver results. Let’s move America forward, together.”
