WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) voted in favor of H.J. Res. 61, a resolution to disapprove the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) rule on National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants related to rubber tire manufacturing. This rule, which was published in November 2024, imposes new emissions standards on the rubber tire manufacturing industry.

“This rule will burden an already struggling industry with costly regulations that will drive up prices for consumers and destroy jobs,” said Congressman Harrigan. “Instead of punishing American businesses with more red tape, we should be helping them thrive. This vote is about standing with hardworking Americans who will suffer the consequences of this overreach.”

H.J. Res. 61 nullifies the EPA's rule on rubber tire manufacturing, which was implemented in response to a court decision, and aims to ensure all emissions of hazardous air pollutants are regulated in the industry.

Congressman Harrigan is urging the Senate to act quickly to block this harmful regulation and protect American businesses and consumers.
