WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) voted in favor of H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2027, legislation providing full-year funding for military installations, veterans healthcare, and benefits for fiscal year 2027.

"The men and women who served this country have earned every dollar in this bill and I was proud to cast this vote," said Congressman Harrigan. "We ask our troops to be ready to fight and our veterans to live with what that costs them. The least we can do is make sure their bases are funded, their families are taken care of, and their healthcare is there when they need it. That is a promise we made and this bill keeps it."

The legislation provides funding across the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs, including $2.1 billion for Army military construction, $5.5 billion for Navy and Marine Corps construction, and $3.7 billion for Air Force construction projects. On the veterans side, the bill funds healthcare through the Veterans Health Administration, compensation and pension benefits, suicide prevention programs, toxic exposure care under the PACT Act for veterans exposed to burn pits and other environmental hazards, and grants to help states build and expand veterans cemeteries and extended care facilities.

Congressman Harrigan will continue working to ensure the federal government upholds its commitment to the men and women who have served in uniform and to the military families who sacrifice alongside them.
