FORT BRAGG, NC—Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC) joined Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll, Senator Ted Budd, and Congressman Richard Hudson in Fayetteville for the official redesignation of Fort Liberty back to Fort Bragg. The ceremony honored World War II veteran and paratrooper PFC Roland L. Bragg, restoring the historic name of one of America’s most storied military installations.

“Fort Bragg represents the heart and soul of the airborne community, a legacy built by those who answered the call to serve,” said Congressman Harrigan. “PFC Roland L. Bragg exemplified the courage and sacrifice that define this installation, and it is only right that his name now stands as a permanent tribute to that legacy.”

The ceremony featured the uncasing of the Fort Bragg garrison colors, a tribute to the Bragg family, and remarks from military leaders and elected officials. Soldiers, veterans, and Gold Star families gathered to witness the momentous occasion.

As an Army veteran and a North Carolinian, Congressman Harrigan remains committed to ensuring that Fort Bragg continues to be a pillar of American military excellence and a home for the nation’s warfighters.
